PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the adhesion of a polyvinyl alcohol resin to an oriented film. SOLUTION: The adhesion of a polyvinyl alcohol resin to an oriented film such as of polyolefin, polyester or polystyrene is improved by compounding polyvinyl alcohol and a modified polyvinyl alcohol resin with 1-30 pt(s).wt. of a polyvinyl alcohol resin modified with a dibasic acid salt and 0-20 pt(s).wt. of an isocyanate.
