PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope device capable of optimally adjusting the amplification of fluorescent image signals, corresponding to various subjects. SOLUTION: A peak value detecting circuit 27 processes W-image signals obtained during the irradiation of white light to a subject and F-image signals obtained during the irradiation of excitation light to the subject, frame by frame to acquire the maximum value (reference peak value) of the W-image signal in one frame and the maximum value (fluorescent peak value) of the F-image signal in one frame. A reference coefficient value and a fluorescent coefficient value are respectively computed on the basis of both peak values. Both coefficient multipliers MW, MF respectively multiply the W-image signals and the F-image signal by the reference coefficient value and the fluorescent coefficient value to make level adjustment. The level-adjusted F-image signal is subtracted from the blue component of the level-adjusted W-image signal to generate a diagnostic image signal.
