The lock spring (1) comprises a pair of spring legs (4,5) and can be installed in a sleeve for accommodation of an electric cable to prevent withdrawal of the cable. It has a pair of cutting edges (6,7) which penetrate the cable to retain it. The spring has at least one locating area (10) for limiting the penetration depth of the cuttig edges, so that they do not cause a short circuit in the cable.
