摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating composition for optical fibers, which hardly causes foaming, with the foams disappearing quickly, is excellent in curability by radiation, and when applied, has such an excellent effect that the transmission loss can be maintained at a low level since the coating material of an optical fiber core or a tape core contains no foam. SOLUTION: The radiation-curable coating composition for optical fibers contains (A) 100 pts.wt. urethane (meth)acrylate obtained by reacting a polyol compound, a polyisocyanate compound and a hydroxylated (meth)acrylate compound, (B) 10-200 pts.wt. monoethylenically unsaturated monomer, and (C) a silicone antifoaming agent in an amount of 10-1,000 ppm based on the total of component (A) and component (B).
