PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal transmission method and system that can efficiently transmit in two-way an optical signal resulting from converting a digital video signal obtained from video cameras or a digital video signal of other form obtained based on the digital video signals by using a camera use optical fiber cable. SOLUTION: The system of this invention transmits a 1st optical signal resulting from applying bit multiplex synthesis processing and then applying E/O conversion to a plurality of 1st serial digital data to an optical fiber 32 in the camera use optical fiber cable 31, transmits a 2nd optical signal resulting from multiplexing the serial digital data as multiplexed serial data and applying E/O conversion to the multiplexed serial data to an optical fiber 33 in the camera use optical fiber cable 31, transmits the 1st optical signal from a 1st transmission/reception end of the camera use optical fiber cable 31 to a 2nd transmission/reception end through the optical fiber 32 and transmits the 2nd optical signal from the 2nd transmission/reception end of the camera use optical fiber cable 31 to the 1st transmission/reception end through the optical fiber 33. |
