The pivot axle is formed by a hinge pin (10). It belongs to the auxiliary pivot axle in the form of a clamping sleeve (11) and is positioned so that it is displaced in relation to the hinge-side edge of the flap or lid. The second hinge-half containing the auxiliary pivot axle consists of a bearing block (7) fitting onto the bodywork of the vehicle, and an angled hinge-flap (8) is mounted on the bearing block. The hinge flap is formed of a U-shaped sectioned stamped steel sheet.
