PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DB inquiring system which eliminates the need to develop inquiry software exclusively by DBs. SOLUTION: A display and input device 11 actualize a man-machine interface for users and a file device 12 stores a database in table format to be inquired. A database management part 120 is a means for accessing the database. When the name of a table to be inquired is specified by a user through the display and input device 11, an initial processing part 111 in a dedicated editor 110 reads-in column information on the specified table from the file device 12 through the database management part 120. An inquiry condition setting processing part 112 sets a query as an inquiry condition according to the read-in column information. An inquiry processing part 113 composes an SQL statement according to the set query and passes it to the database management part 120, and edits and displays an access result of the database on the display and input device 11 once receiving it.
