The vacuum pump comprises a pumping part which can be driven by a rotor shaft (8). It also comprises a lubricant fluid supply channel (15) which can be supplied by a vehicle lubrication system. The supply channel discharges into an annular groove (24) located between the rotor shaft and the wall of the bore forming the shaft bearing surface and is connected to the pumping part by a connecting channel (25). The lubricant fluid supply channel locates a throttling point (19) and the annular groove is connected to a lubricant fluid return channel.
