PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera in which a magnification can be set arbitrarily by a photographer at the time of turn on power. SOLUTION: The camera comprises a collapsible lens barrel 1, a zoom initial position selecting button 31 for inputting the zoom magnification at the time of turn on power, and means 34 for storing the optical zoom magnification at the time of turn on power as an initial optical zoom magnification information, wherein the collapsible lens barrel 1 is fed out at the time of turn on power of the camera and stopped at a zoom magnification position stored in the storage means 34.
