PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device that is improved in display quality by restraining deterioration in the display image quality caused by dimmer control of the light source lamp, without involving enlargement of the device scale and increase of the product cost. SOLUTION: The light source comprises a power source 10 for supplying a prescribed direct current voltage V1, a DC-DC converter 20 that converts the direct current voltage V1 into prescribed direct current voltages V3, V4, V5 for working as the power source voltage for driving the function circuit part of the display device and outputs continuously, a current regulating circuit 100 that regulates the load condition in the DC-DC converter 20, and a light source driving control part LU and a display driving control part DU that constitute the function circuit part.
