PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for setting initial setting and a method of a stepper motor which can surely and easily realize the initial setting by clearly indicating an index for the initial setting, using a numeral and by shortening the initial setting time. SOLUTION: An initial setting is conducted to apply an excitation signal to a coil by synchronizing a step, shifted from the bounce step only in a half cycle of one electric cycle to the timing in which a stopper piece is placed in contact with a fixed stopper. Since the rotating direction of rotor of stepper motor is inverted in the bounce step, this step can be detected easily. When this bounce step is detected, it is only required to shift the initial setting position only in a half cycle. Therefore, an index as the guide line of the initial setting becomes clear, and the initial setting can also be realized surely and easily. |
