PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a pneumatic tire having simple handling of an unvulcanized inner liner member and capable of suppressing the generation of scraps. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the pneumatic tire comprises the steps of coating an annular film liner 12A made of a synthetic resin on a drum 16, and coating a rubber composition liquid 20 dissolved in an industrial gasoline on the outer peripheral surface of the liner 12A. When an unvulcanized inner liner member 28 is dried, a thin annular unvulcanized inner liner member 28 having a predetermined thickness is obtained. The method also comprises the steps of removing the liner 12A from the drum 16, mounting the liner 12A on the outer peripheral surface of a tire molding drum 34, thereafter mounting a tire constituting component as prior art to complete a raw tire, and then vulcanizing the raw tire in a mold.
