Arrangement (100) of display units (101) are connected in series by two-wire connection (103). Each unit has own display controller (102). Position determining unit (106) and power supply (107) are coupled to arrangement at start or end of series connection of units. Position determining unit memory holds identification bit sequences supplied from each unit at start of operation. Arrangement (100) is made up of display units (101) connected in series by two-wire connection (103). Units are liquid crystal displays, TFT display units, plasma display units or electronic paper display unit with electrophoretic display. Each unit has own display controller (102). Positioning determining unit (106) and power supply (107) are coupled to arrangement at start or end of the series connection of the units.
