PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer excellent in biodegrability and stability, and satisfying various required properties in broad uses, and to provide a production method for the same polymer. SOLUTION: This polymer has a repeating unit (1a, 1b, etc.), containing a pendant group which has a guanidino group or its salt and/or an N-containing heterocyclic ammonio group or its salt. The production method for the polymer, consisting of a reaction introducing the pendant group, is provided. [R is the pendant group which has the guanidino group or the N-containing heterocyclic ammonio group or salt thereof; X is NH, N(R'), O or S; n is 1 or 2].
