PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain an aqueous resin composition having ultraviolet absorption characteristics and providing a protective coating layer and capable of continuing the initial ultraviolet absorption characteristics for a long period. SOLUTION: This aqueous resin composition comprises an ultraviolet absorption group-free, fluorine containing polymer (e.g. chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer) and an ultraviolet absorption group containing polymer (e.g. 2-(2'- hydroxy-5'-methacryloyloxyethylphenyl)-2H-benzotriazole copolymer) in the ratio of 50:50-99:1 (mass ratio) which are dispersed as fine particles in an aqueous medium.
