METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING VIDEO SIGNALS

PURPOSE: A method and a system for transmitting and receiving video signals are provided to minimize voltage drop due to a line resistance of a transmission cable between a computer and a flat panel monitor to improve performance and efficiency of transmission and reception of video signals between the computer and monitor. CONSTITUTION: A video controller(2) generates a plurality of digital video signals under the control of a CPU of a computer. An optical signal generator(3) converts each of the digital video signals into an optical signal. An optical cable(4) transmits the optical signal to a flat panel monitor. An optical detector(5) converts the optical signal transmitted through the optical cable into the digital video signal to apply the digital video signal to the monitor.
