PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method f or processing image and a storage medium, with which a limitation in the number of gradations reproducible in a half-tone image and the generation of texture to obstruct the view in the half-tone image can be eliminated. SOLUTION: A quantizing error E0 of a difference between an error correcting pixel value I' and an output pixel value is calculated and stored in an error memory 18, a difference E2-E1 between an error E2 to be originally used for half-tone processing and an error E1, which is really used for half-tone processing, on a dot under half-tone processing at present is calculated, the quantizing error E0 adding the error E2-E1 to the stored quantizing error E0 is transferred to any one of dots adjacent to the dot under half-tone processing at present and on the basis of the added quantizing error E0, the output pixel value of an output pixel belonging to this dot is corrected.
