PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver and its method by which a desired channel can be selected with a very simple operation in the case that a user selects the desired channel out of several hundreds of channels. SOLUTION: Each BS digital broadcast station can broadcast a plurality of channel video images under the concept of a broadcaster. Information as to a plurality of the channels broadcast by each broadcast station is transmitted as broadcaster information. The broadcaster information is effectively utilized and an optional key is assigned as a broadcast station to allow a user to cyclically select a channel belonging to the same broadcast station every time the user depresses the same key.
