The invention relates to a power converter (1) in the form of a multi-level circuit, for converting direct current into alternating current or vice vers a. Said power converter (1) comprises at least one capacitor (2) and at least t wo semiconductor power switches (3). The or each capacitor (2) comprises a pair of connectors (10, 11) for connecting the capacitor (2) to at least two semiconductor power switches. The aim of the invention is to create, as far as possible, a low-inductive, long-life and cost-effective electrical connectio n between the capacitors (2) and the power switches (3). In order to achieve this, the or each capacitor (2) comprises at least one other pair of connectors (10, 11) in order to connect the capacitor (2) to at least two semiconductor power switches (3) or a direct current network.
