PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide melting cast ASZ articles which can be made from waste production materials or recycled spent materials, and also can be advantageously used in the back and/or upper structure of a glass melting furnace. SOLUTION: The melting cast ASZ articles is characterized by a composition and containing Al2O3 of 45 to 65 wt.%, ZrO2 of 10.0 to 29.0 wt.%, SiO2 of 20.0 to 24.0 wt.%, SiO2/(Na2O+K2O) of 4.5 to 8 by weight ratio and the other of 0.5 to 4.0 wt.%.
