PURPOSE: A shape recognition system is provided to improve productivity and to reduce a reject rate remarkably by using a conductive electrode as an electrode sectional area of a shape recognition sensor. CONSTITUTION: The shape recognition system consists of conductive electrodes(263) arranged up and down plural parallel signal transfer lines(265) of an insulating substrate(250), a shape sensor(10) having a sealing layer for sealing the conductive electrodes and signal transfer lines together with a side of the substrate, a shape decision unit for deciding the shape or movement of an object by receiving signals from the shape sensor, and a display/control unit for displaying or controlling each unit according to the decided signals of the shape decision unit. The shape sensor detects an object or a fingerprint by forming plural rows of conductive electrode sectional areas. To detect the shape of an object or a fingerprint, the object is contacted to the shape sensor having plural electrode sectional areas according to an embedded program of the shape decision unit. The shape decision unit detects the changes in an electric signal, decides if the current mode is a still image recognition mode, a moving image recognition mode or a movement recognition mode of a moving object, and then feeds a necessary control signal to the display/control unit according to the recognized data.
