Aqueous liquid bleach, washing or prewash composition comprising hydrogen peroxide, nonionic and anionic surfactants, a radical scavenger, phosphonic and carboxylic acid complexing agents and a polysaccharide thickener has a pH of 2.5-7.5. Aqueous liquid bleach, washing or prewash composition having a pH of 2.5-7.5 comprises (wt.%): hydrogen peroxide (3-8); nonionic surfactant (0.2-2); anionic surfactant (0.5-5); a radical scavenger (0.01-0.2); water-miscible solvent or dispersant for the radical scavenger ( <= 1); a heavy metal complexing agent with at least one phosphonic acid group (0.1-2); a heavy metal complexing agent with at least one carboxylic acid group (0.05-2); sufficient polysaccharide thickener to give a Brookfield viscosity of 200-5000 mPa.s ar 20 deg C and 20 rpm; and water (to 100).
