PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excessive breakdown voltage preventive insulating device for a motor stator whose construction is improved so as to prevent an auxiliary resistance coil from being brought into contact with a rotor. SOLUTION: This excessive breakdown voltage preventive insulating device for a motor stator includes a stator 1, a rotor 3 provided inside the stator 1, a stator coil 2 which has a main resistance coil 2a wound on the outside of the stator core and an auxiliary resistance coil 2b wound on the inside of the stator core and an insulating means (an insulator 10 and insulating strings 20) which prevents the auxiliary resistance coil 2b from being brought into contact with the rotor 3 which is caused by the loosening of the auxiliary resistance coil 2b when the temperature of the auxiliary resistance coil 2b rises.
