An apparatus for assembling a CPU module formed from a CPU (5), cooler (6) and clamping piece (1) comprises a connecting means comprising a gear set (not shown) and shaft (41) which translates a rotational movement of lever (37) to vertical linear movement of shaft (41); a clamping means fixed to the top of the shaft (41) comprising a fixed hook (21) and rotating hook (23), and roller means (52) for facilitating movement of hook (23) for clamping and bending of the clamping piece (1). Rotation of the lever (37) causes shaft (41) and clamping means to move vertically downwards, causing the clamping piece (1) to be gripped as roller (52) forces hook (23) to move inwards, until piece (1) rests against end posts (54) and thus piece (1) is bent and can fit into holes (7) on the CPU and cooler unit. Release of lever (37) allows the clamping piece to clamp the CPU and cooler. |
