PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data storage cartridge which imparts effective and further high wear characteristics between components of the data storage cartridge during a rotation of a tape reel. SOLUTION: The data storage tape cartridge is provided with a housing (12) and a tape reel assembly (14) which is attached to the inside of the housing (12) so as to rotate. A release member (170) is made of a filler contained thermoplastic material, and a wear member (185) is operationally combined to the release member (170) to form a wear surface.
