PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photo sensor to bring a sound into a quiet state during a night and to save energy, and to utilize the photo sensor for saving a chamber light to further save energy in an electric refrigerator. SOLUTION: A photo sensor with which the door of a refrigerator is provided captures brightness of the periphery of a refrigerator. In case of brightness exceeding a specified value, a chamber light is not lighted and in the case where brightness is below the specified value, the light is turned on. Further, a decision value of brightness can be selected by a user himself.
