PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the paper discharge structure of a receipt printer which does not resist a paper feed function, a printing function, and a function to form a continuous paper into a cut paper even when a paper discharge opening is unpreparedly closed, in a printer to effect printing on a built-in continuous paper and cut a paper end by a cutting blade to feed. SOLUTION: The printer 10 comprises a casing 20, a cover body 30, an arm member 40, and a cutter mechanism 50. A paper discharge holding space 70 is provided at the tip part of the casing 20. The width of the discharge paper holding space 70 is set to the same value as or slightly longer than the width direction of the continuous paper (the width direction or a rolled paper P). Further, a taper part 71 is provided on the paper carriage passage 23 side of the discharge paper holding space 70, and a paper guide part 72 on the paper discharge route terminal part of the discharge paper holding space 70. This constitution is for holding a cut paper when an operator unpreparedly closes the paper discharge opening 25 though it is usual, as described above, that the roll paper P is cut.
