PURPOSE:To translate the sentences of an original language into the sentences of an object language in the idiomatic expressions. CONSTITUTION:A translation executing part 2 translates a sentence written in an original language and supplied from an original sentence input pert 1 with reference to the grammatical rules and a word dictionary 5 and sends the translated sentence to an idiomatic expression converting part 3. The part 3 decides whether a word string to be corrected into an idiomatic expression is included or not ain the sentence of the original language with reference to an idiomatic expression dictionary 6. If so, a combination character string is produced with extraction of all or some of the translated words. If an idiomatic expression corresponding to a certain character string is included in the dictionary 6 where the headers expressed in the idiomatic expressions of an object language are described, the relevant expression is used as a translated word. Thus a desired sentence of the object language is obtained. |
