PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breather device for an engine capable of surely separating oil in blowby gas. SOLUTION: A gas-liquid separation chamber 43 is formed separately from a chain chamber in a cylinder head 4. The gas-liquid separation chamber 43 is communicated with a crank chamber 8 through a gas inlet 52 and the chain chamber. The gas inlet 52 is opened on a face on the side of a chain 33 in the chain chamber, and its bottom face is inclined. An oil reflux chamber 72 having an opening part 73 communication with the chain chamber is provided in an upper end part of the gas-liquid separation chamber 43. Blowby gas in the crank chamber 8 is introduced into the gas-liquid separation chamber 43 and is further fed into a gas-liquid separation chamber 45 after oil is separated from the gas so that oil is separated at two steps. As a result, oil in blowby gas can be surely separated without adding parts and complicating the device and its type.
