Pump station for coolants and lubricants containing chips

The pumping station for fluid which contains swarf has a supply pipe (2) which leads into a collector (5) to which the pump (6) is attached. The pressure side of the pump is connected to a waste removal pipe. The supply pipe has a forked section in it whereby one fork (3) has a fall in it and is used to supply coolant fluid to the collector. The other fork (4) leads up an incline and is used to deliver swarf to the collector. The mouths of the two separate channels are so arranged with respect to each other that swarf falling from its supply pipe into the collector impinges on the coolant fluid stream emanating from the other pipe.
