PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lower body structure for a vehicle ensuring the opening/ closing operation of a front door by avoiding the deformation of a front pillar caused by the contact of a retreating front tire. SOLUTION: In a lower part 10A of a front pillar 10, an outer side face part 12 of a pillar panel outer 11 is interposed at a side face 21 of a hinge reinforcement 20 provided with the side face 21, a front face 22 and a rear face 23 overlapping an outer side face part 12, a front face part 13 and a rear face part 14 of a pillar panel outer 11, to support a lower door hinge 32 by a fitting bolt 42 and a nut 41. Load inputted to the front face 22 of the hinge reinforcement 20 by the retreat of the front tire 30 is dispersedly transmitted to the outer side face part 12 and rear face part 14 of the pillar panel outer 11 and dispersedly transmitted effectively to the whole front pillar 10 and further dispersedly transmitted to all the vehicle body members such as a side sill and a floor. The deformation of the front pillar is thereby avoided to impede the retreat of the front tire.
