PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a method whereby a large amount of an indium-tin-iron catalyst capable of forming a carbon nanocoil can be produced at a low cost. SOLUTION: This method, for producing an indium-tin-iron catalyst for forming a carbon nanocoil having an outer diameter of 1,000 nm or lower, comprises the first step wherein an indium-containing organic compound and a tin-containing organic compound are mixed into an organic solvent to give an organic solution; the second step wherein the organic solution is applied to a substrate to form an organic film; the third step wherein the organic film is baked to form an indium-tin film; and the fourth step wherein an iron film is formed on the surface of the indium-tin film. |
