PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photosensitive image recording material excellent in fitness for safelight without lowering sensitivity. SOLUTION: In the photosensitive image recording material with a photosensitive layer and a protective layer containing a colorant having its main absorption spectrum near the emission spectrum of safelight on the base, the photosensitive layer contains at least a titanocene photoinitiator and the absorption spectrum of the colorant in the protective layer has OD of >=1.0 in the wavelength range of 520-540 nm and OD of <=0.3 in a wavelength range of <=500 nm peculiar to a light source for exposure.
