PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and light swimming assist device with high safety. SOLUTION: A board to be unified with a human body has a water suction ports 111a and drain ports 109a and 109b. A stream propulsion type electric pump 110 to be driven for operation by a battery is fitted to the board. This swimming assist device is provided with a hull, which is provided with grip parts 106a and 106b in both sides of a front part thereof and provided with an operation part 107a near at least one of the grip parts and to be floated in the water, the stream propulsion type electric pump 110, to which the power is supplied from the battery, and a control means for controlling the power of the electric pump 110 in response to the operation of the operation part 107a.
