PURPOSE: A device for controlling a data transmission is provided to prevent storing and transmitting the unnecessary data in case that the data, transmitted between systems having different widths and clocks, are stored temporarily. CONSTITUTION: A PCI bus(1) is provided for transmitting a data word. The first buffer memory(3) temporarily stores data supplied in the PCI bus(1) and outputs the data in accordance with a control signal. The first interface unit(2) interfaces a data communication between the PCI bus(1) and the first buffer memory(3). The first address generator(4) combines a byte enable signal with a read address signal, and supplies a write address to the first buffer memory(3). A latch unit(6) comprises a plurality of latches, and stores data supplied from the first buffer memory(3) and outputs data. The first byte selector(7) reads the latches and converts the latches into data by one bit and outputs the data to the second buffer memory(13). A local bus(11) transmits a data word. The second buffer memory(13) temporarily stores data supplied in the local bus(11) and outputs the data in accordance with a control signal. The second interface unit(12) interfaces a data communication between the local bus(11) and the second buffer memory(13). The second address generator(14) combines a byte enable signal with a read address signal, and supplies a write address to the second buffer memory(13). A latch unit(16) comprises a plurality of latches, and stores data being supplied from the second buffer memory(13) and outputs data.
