PURPOSE: A chuck fixing device of a machine tool is provided to easily replace and fix a chuck by firmly mounting a chuck on a spindle without bolting. CONSTITUTION: A chuck fixing device for a machine tool has a first collector(104) having many fixing clutches while being combined to the lower portion of a transfer hole(105) of a spindle(102), a first collector combining unit for combining the first collector to the lower portion of the transfer hole, a fixing member(107) radially formed on the upper face of a chuck(101) while having a first ledge(106) in the upper inner end, a cubic coupling(126) having irregularities to transmit the rotational force of the spindle to the chuck, and a fixing clutch holding unit for holding a hanging part of the fixing member with the fixing clutches of the first collector. If a transfer rod(121) descends by a hydraulic cylinder(123), an inclined face(120) of the transfer rod is inserted into the first collector and the fixing clutch widens outwardly. The fixing clutch contacts with the neighboring fixing clutch by an elastic ring(115). Thus, separation of the first collector from a first combining groove(114) is prevented. After the chuck is fixed by the first collector, the rotational force of the spindle is transmitted to the chuck as the spindle is engaged with the chuck via the cubic coupling. For separating the chuck from the spindle, the transfer rod is lifted up to narrow the fixing clutch of the first collector. Then, the fixing member is disassembled by the separation of the ledge from the fixing clutch. Therefore, the chuck is fixed and disassembled easily. Further, work efficiently is improved.
