METHOD OF MANUFACTURING FLUX-COMBINED ALUMINUM WELDING WIRE

PURPOSE: An aluminum welding wire being combined with flux is provided to enable continuous welding operations without applying additional flux on aluminum welding wires. CONSTITUTION: The aluminum welding wire is manufactured by (i) mixing Al-Si alloy powder having a particle size distribution 26 to 700 μm, 2.2 to 41.0 wt.% of a flux and 0.01 to 3.0 wt.% of LiF; (ii) after molding the mixture, degassing it in the temperature range 300 to 430deg.C; (iii) extruding it at ambient temperature or drawing it in the temperature range 150 to 430deg.C so as to fabricate into a wire with a diameter of 0.5 to 10mm or various shapes such as welding rings, plates and rods.
