The preparation of dechlorinated e.g. mains water comprises filtration and dechlorination (1), decalcification (2), double reverse osmosis (3) and total filtration (5). An additive (7) gives controlled mineralisation prior to aseptic vacuum packaging in e.g. tetrabrile. The mineralisation additive is e.g. calcium chloride or potassium chloride.
