Air is passed through an evaporation tank (1) containing water and into a condensation tank (2) containing a cooler (11). A process for purifying water comprises introducing the water into an evaporation tank and passing air through this tank in order to transport vapour to a condensation tank, where the air is cooled using a cooler with a coolant pipe system (12). Air then exits the condensation tank into the surrounding atmosphere. An Independent claim is also included for the water purification installation used to carry out this process.
