PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage container having a lid body the opening of which is speedily opened and closed with and without pressure to a lid plate without requiring provision of a part made of different material on the lid plate. SOLUTION: The lid plate 3 is attached to the opening of the lid body 2 externally fitted to a substantially box-shaped container main body 1, and an elastic part 32 is so provided close to an attaching part 31 for attaching the lid plate 3 to the lid body 2 that it forms a belt shape.
