<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray inspection device capable of accurately determining whether or not a foreign matter is mixed in an object of inspection without being affected by a projected image of a container even if the object of inspection is tall canned provisions or the like, although this device is made by combining a conveying mechanism for the object of inspection with a one-dimensional X-ray detector. SOLUTION: When a transmitted X-ray image of a side wall portion of the container is removed by masking from an image of the object W of inspection based on an output of the one-dimensional X-ray detector 3, the number of pixels removed in the element arrangement direction (x-direction) of the detector 3 is made larger than the number of pixels removed in the direction (y-direction) normal thereto. This enables the image of the side wall portion of the container to be surely eliminated, if there is a difference in thickness of the side wall portion in the image caused by X rays diagonally transmitted by the side wall portion of the container and coming into elements near both end's of the detector 3.</p> |
