PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable high voltage power source by improving resistance against crack breakdown of a piezoelectric transformer. SOLUTION: Polarization direction on a secondary side of the piezoelectric transformer is discriminated based on polarity of an output voltage of the piezoelectric transformer, so that a target voltage polarity is provided when the secondary side of the piezoelectric transformer shrinks.
