PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system which can improve the efficiency of printing work. SOLUTION: In the printing system comprising a data processing apparatus in which software which can set up the printing conditions of job data and controls a printing apparatus is installed and the printing apparatus which prepares printing data and implements printing on the basis of the job data received from the data processing apparatus, on the side of the data processing apparatus, information about the printing apparatus and an optional apparatus connected to the printing apparatus is acquired, on the basis of the acquired information, setting items in the driver software containing contents the implementation of which is impossible on the side of the printing apparatus and the optional apparatus are judged, the items judged to contain the items are not selected in the driver software, and information acquired in an information acquisition step is reflected in the driver software.
