APPARATUS FOR GENERATING BASE BAND SIGNAL OF MULTI-LEVEL SUPERPOSED AMPLITUDE-MODULATED SIGNAL

PURPOSE: An apparatus for generating a base band signal of a multi-level superposed amplitude-modulated signal is provided to maintain a band width and power efficiency of a multi-level superposed amplitude-modulated signal by simplifying a structure of a base band signal generator. CONSTITUTION: A delay portion(2) is used for delaying received digital data of predetermined bits during a predetermined symbol period. A signal level conversion portion(1) is used for converting the digital data and the delayed digital data. An operation portion(3) is used for generating a predetermined control signal by operating the converted digital data and the delayed digital data. The first pulse generator(4) is used for generating continuously a pulse of cos(π/T) during the symbol period. The second pulse generator(9) is used for generating a pulse of -K(1-A)(1-cos(2πt/T)) during the symbol period. A signal synthesis portion(6,11) is used for generating predetermined base band signals from the pulses of the first and the second pulse generators.
