Production of fusing glass and composite safety glass comprises melting one or more glass parts on a carrier glass plate in a glass melting oven (3); polishing and/or planarizing the glass plate; placing with its free reverse side on a layer (1) of powdered separating agent; and sprinkling, coating and/or covering the base of the oven. An independent claim is also included for a glass melting oven comprising a board (2) for the separating agent and a pulling rod (6) for polishing and/or planarizing. Preferred Features: The composite consists of a carrier glass plate, a plastic film and a float glass pane.
