PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method satiopactory in productivity for a liquid crystal display device having high display quality level which will not generate the defect caused by the dispersion in the amount of liquid crystal supplied and film thickness. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display element is manufactured including the stops where liquid crystal is applied in the shape of a film on one substrate in the same shape as the outer shape of a liquid crystal layer at completion of enclosure, the weight of the applied liquid crystal is measured, and when the prescribed weight is not reached, after separating the liquid crystal of the shortage into or more drops, dropping the liquid crystal equally within the limits of the outer shape of the liquid crystal layer at the completion of enclosure and compensating the quantity of the liquid crystal, the one substrate is stuck with the other substrate.
