PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side window roller blind for an automobile, having automatic pull-out and winding capability without using a lever. SOLUTION: This side window roller blind comprises a winding shaft 34 rotatably supported behind an lining 14 on the side face of a door 7 or an middle column 3, a roll blind sheet 31 adapted to be pulled out of a slot 29 of the door 7 for covering a side window portion 21, and an operation member 56 operating on the edge of the roll blind sheet 31 passing therethrough at the maximum distance. The operation member 56 is a linear member having tensile strength or compressive rigidity depending on its structure. The roll blind sheet 31 is held in a wide range of a side window by at least one guide rail 45 or one or two operation member 56 having non-compressibility or high bending rigidity.
