PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL light source with high brightness and stability by radiating heat from luminous layer through a transparent base board. SOLUTION: For the organic EL light source, at least a transparent electrode film 21, a luminous layer 22 and a reflecting electrode film 23 are formed on one side of a transparent base board 1. High heat radiation efficiency is obtained by forming a rugged surface 3 with the surface area of 1.5 times as large as the area of orthogonal projection of the transparent board 1 in normal direction with the base board, on the surface of another side of the board 1.
