PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing bar-shaped confectionery each piece of which comprises a three-dimensional core and at least one layer of uniform thickness consisting of a condensed sugar-based confectionery material and at least partly coated on the core. SOLUTION: This method for producing bar-shaped confectionery comprises the following process: at least one continuous strip (7) of a confectionery material is brought to a necessary size on a cooling roller (4), and then separated off the roller (4) and subsequently brought into virtual contact with a plane(P) adjacent to the highest contact surface/line of a confectionery base (3) to be coated with the strip (7), and thereby made to adhere to the base; at this time, the strip (7) is in a viscoplastic condition so as to be deformable owing to its own weight to ensure the flank of the above base to be at least partly covered therewith below the above-mentioned contact surface/line.
