PURPOSE: An apparatus for recording and regenerating the bell sounds, ringback tones and dial tones of a mobile terminal and a recording method using the terminal are provided to offer recording and regeneration functions and a relevant recording service method to mobile terminals so that users can select and register their favorite bell sounds, ringback tones and dial tones. CONSTITUTION: A user accesses Internet or 700(120) and determines what service he will select(130). If the user selects one among a bell sound service, a ringback tone service and a dial tone service, the server of a selected service transmits a relevant list to the user(132,134,136). Then the server asks the user whether he will carry out an arbitrary recording course(140). Irrespective of the user's selection for the recording course, the user select a file for a specific sound or desired music(142). In case that the user selects a file together with the arbitrary recording course, the recording of an arbitrary sound is made to the selected sound or music(147). Then the server asks the user whether he will download the completed file(150). In case that he wants to download the file, he pushes the number of his mobile terminal(160). After transmitting the file(170), the server asks the user whether he will use another service(180).
